Our 2024 Autism NJ Conference Recap

This week, Pat and many members of the NCSA NJ chapter attended the 42nd annual Autism NJ conference in Atlantic City, NJ, on October 24 and 25.

Autism NJ is the state’s leading autism advocacy organization, supporting families and professionals. Its mission is to help those with autism connect to resources and achieve their full potential. The conference featured a variety of sessions focused on the profound adult and IDD community. Experts in the field, including professionals, caregivers, and advocates from diverse backgrounds and experiences, shared their knowledge and resources for best practices to support families and industry, ensuring that individuals with autism can reach their full potential and enhance their quality of life.

It was exciting to hear about the new progress in interactive technologies related to autism and to gain a deeper understanding of the medical influences tied to severe and challenging behaviors. It was also great to see leaders in the field presenting the evolution of ABA and the collaboration between multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, it was encouraging to learn about the progress made in partnering with healthcare providers and law enforcement in the state of NJ.

Thank you to all who joined and supported the conference, and to our friends at Autism NJ for hosting this event that unites the Autism and IDD community, continuing to lead our efforts for a better tomorrow for our children, adults, and their families.
